US Vows to Uphold Nuclear Deal

21 Dec 2015

US Secretary of State John Kerry sent a letter to his Iranian counterpart Mohammad Javad Zarif on Sunday, reassuring him that the US administration will meet all its commitments under the July nuclear deal despite the new visa restrictions on travelers to Iran, signed into law by President Barack Obama on Friday.

"I reassure you that the new changes to the visa law recently passed by the US Congress will by no means prevent us implementing our commitments under the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action," Kerry said in the letter, using the official name of the accord.
Kerry vowed that the Obama administration will do everything in its power to ensure the modifications will not undermine Iran's economic interests.
